SSMA Member Liability Insurance |
| SSMA membership provides each member with $1,000,000 liability insurance. SSMA defines membership to be both the associated member clubs and those individuals who are SSMA members. Membership in SSMA associated clubs does not automatically provide individual membership in SSMA. Therefore, those members of SSMA associated clubs who are not individual SSMA members are not included under the SSMA policy. The policy is primary insurance, meaning the SSMA insurance pays first before other insurance plans. Most homeowner's or renter's insurance will provide liability coverage, but are usually limited to just a few thousand dollars.Currently, SSMA insurance does not cover damage to models, damage to models during transportation, pyrotechnics, projectiles. Clubs and members are NOT covered if operating boats with combustion powered models (steam ok). For more information, contact the SSMA Insurance/Safety Director.
